this isnt exactly an event. its an extended downtime. the reason for armageddon is to test the servers. the queue is there cause everyone is trying to log on at same time and the servers most definitely cant handle that. they dont really care if only a few hundred people get on cause thats less people to complain if they have to reboot, and they dont need everyone anyways, and would probably prefer less than 1000.
yes, its an event in that its something fun that everyone wants to be part of, but its not an event the way everyone seems to be looking at it. everyone is looking at it like Brewfest that WoW is doing or Hallow's End, thats coming up on WoW, but thats not the case here.
here it is a server test and its first come first serve, and there will be server problems, and you most likely wont get in on your first try, and you will likely get disconnected, but thats what happens.
